Shaun Wickenden, with his extensive experience in the automotive industry, co-founded I’m In The Right in 2014, transforming a simple observation into one of Australia’s leading demurrage companies. Shaun’s career began as an autobody general manager, where he identified a significant gap in the market: the fact that most Australians were unaware that, by law, not-at-fault drivers are entitled to a replacement vehicle at the expense of the at-fault driver’s insurance. Seizing this opportunity, Shaun, alongside his brother Blake, launched I’m In The Right accident replacement vehicles with just five cars.

Under Shaun’s leadership, I’m In The Right has seen remarkable growth, now managing a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and serving customers across the country. His deep understanding of the repair process, insurance dynamics, and customer needs has been crucial to the company’s expansion. Shaun has focused on developing innovative solutions to streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and scale the business effectively.

Shaun’s strategic insight and business acumen have been essential in leading a rapidly growing company. His commitment to innovation and excellence was recognised when I’m In The Right was awarded the Financial Year Boss Most Innovative Transport Company, a testament to the company’s forward-thinking approach under Shaun’s guidance.

As Director, Shaun plays a key role in strategic planning, driving growth initiatives, and ensuring a strong customer-centric culture. He places great importance on employee development, the integration of innovative technology, and nurturing robust relationships with stakeholders. Shaun’s leadership has not only positioned I’m In The Right as one of the top three demurrage providers in Australia but also set the company on a path for continued success and expansion.

Beyond the business, Shaun is passionate about making a positive impact. He is committed to adopting environmentally sustainable practices, such as transitioning the company fleet to electric vehicles and reducing the overall environmental footprint. Shaun also actively engages with the community, supporting initiatives like Local Kind, which addresses critical social issues such as homelessness, domestic violence, and youth intervention. Each year, I’m In The Right also participates in charity events such as Convoy for Kids, reinforcing the company’s commitment to giving back to the community.
